“Hidden History Unearthed: Bunkers, Trenches, and Weapons from WWII Discovered in Belgium’s Reconstruction Efforts”
Belgium’s authorities have uncovered a series of underground bunkers, trenches, and other structures built by the Germans during WWII. The discoveries include fully intact bunkers hidden underwater, as well as weapons such as grenades and bayonets. Heyst, where the findings were made, was heavily contested during WWI and occupied by German troops in 1942.
