“Judge Dismissed for Interfering with Court Session in ‘Hayakv’ Trial; Avetik Chalabyan Sentenced to 2 Years and 6 Months”

In Yerevan’s General Jurisdiction Court, Judge Mnatsakanian was dismissed for interfering with a court session. Avetik Chalabyan, a judge on the “Hayakv” trial, was found guilty of insulting behavior. Chalabyan received a penalty of 2 years and 6 months of limited freedom. The court session was adjourned until December 21. Chalabyan was charged with organizing unauthorized rallies and offering money to students for their participation. This criminal case was initiated based on a complaint filed by the president of the National Agrarian University. The alleged offense was committed by individuals linked to political forces.
