“Monument Honoring Armenian Genocide Perpetrator Unveiled in Marseille, France”

The monument of Soghomon Tehlirian, an Armenian hero and perpetrator of the Armenian Genocide, was unveiled in Marseille. Armenians attended the ceremony, where children sang a song honoring Tehlirian. In 2017, a promenade in Marseille was also named after him. Tehlirian participated in the defense of Armenia during World War I and was acquitted for killing Talat Pasha, the main organizer of the genocide. He later settled in Belgium and the US before passing away in San Francisco at 64.
