“EUMPC Explores Prospects for ‘Middle Corridor’ Project in Developing Eurasian Transport Connections”

The EUMPC discusses prospects of the “Middle Corridor” project, with participation from Deputy Prime Minister Vahe Davtyan. The project is warmly received by China and set to be implemented in 2022, connecting Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. The goal is to expand transport connections and access to the Caspian Sea and Central Asia. The EU and China’s interests align, particularly regarding the importance of the Caspian Sea for the Trans-Pacific route and the “Caspian Gas Pipeline”. The region is becoming part of mega-projects, making the “Middle Corridor” project more promising.
