The “jay” hero-glyph is chosen as Japan’s emblem for 2023, with the announcement made at Kyoto’s Budokan. TV networks broadcasted the decision. The emblem for 2022 was “ikusa” hero-glyph, selected due to ongoing conflicts and Japanese athletes’ success. This is the 29th selection since 1995.
