“Corruption in Armenia Worsens, According to Freedom House Report: Public Trust in Anti-Corruption Institutions Declines”

Corruption in Armenia has worsened according to the “Nations in Transit 2024” report by Freedom House. 44% believe corruption has increased recently. Although positive evaluations of anti-corruption measures have doubled, negative evaluations have increased tenfold. The report suggests further action and highlights irregularities in real estate transactions, misuse of state assets, and lack of transparency in public procurement. Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index score for Armenia has improved by 1 point. Civil society organizations continue to lead the fight against corruption, but public trust and participation need improvement.
