The activities of Turkish and Iranian diplomatic and economic representatives took place in Ashgabat from July 1-3, 2024. During these meetings, discussions were held regarding gas cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as reported by the “Turkmenistan Business” portal.

As a result of these meetings, Turkish and Iranian representatives signed a contract for the annual supply and sale of up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The gas will be transported from Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, utilizing the territory of Iran for the “SWAP” operation.
