“Rescued from Auschwitz: German Government Provides Assistance to Polish Survivors of WWII Occupation”

Rescued prisoners from Auschwitz in Poland, who were victims of the Second World War, will soon receive assistance from the German government. According to DW, on July 2nd, during a meeting in Warsaw with Danish Secretary of State Donald Tusk, Poland’s Prime Minister announced that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would provide financial support over a period of several months. The exact amount of compensation that will be given to the approximately 40,000 Polish people affected by Germany’s occupation has not been disclosed by local authorities. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commended the German government’s decision as a positive step, emphasizing that while the amount cannot fully compensate for the atrocities of the Second World War, it will still make a significant difference.
