Iran’s spiritual leader, Ali Khamenei, and the head of Iran’s national security council, Kamal Kharrazi, stated in an interview with the Financial Times that Iran will offer complete support to Hezbollah’s military movement if Israel instigates a war with Lebanon. Kharrazi emphasized that Iran has no other option but to assist Hezbollah using all possible means, except for direct military intervention. He asserted that Lebanon would receive support from the Lebanese people, Arab countries, and the international community in a confrontation against Israel. However, Kharrazi also clarified that Iran and the US would not benefit from an escalation of violence and its expansion. On June 29, Iran’s military delegation held a press conference where they announced that Israel’s aggressive actions in Lebanon pose a significant military threat, and any initiation of military operations by Israel would trigger a full-scale war.
