“22-Year-Old Yerevan Resident Linked to Major Waste management Scandal, Investigation Reveals”
The investigation conducted by the State Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has made significant progress in prosecuting waste management and disposal issues. According to the committee, a 22-year-old resident of Yerevan has been identified as being involved in these activities. The investigation discovered that the resident used the messaging application “Telegram” to transfer large quantities of waste materials to various recipients. These materials were photographed and marked with their coordinates before being disposed of. The investigation also revealed that the resident used cryptocurrency transactions to facilitate the disposal process.
From 2021 to 2023, the resident utilized the “Telegram” messaging application and acquired cryptocurrencies to manage waste disposal. The resident then transferred significant quantities of waste materials to recipients using the waste disposal system “Marichuana” and other registered systems within the application. These waste materials were stored in packages, weighed, and photographed at specific locations before being transferred.
Additionally, the investigation uncovered that the resident received orders through social networks and used online methods to transfer the payment for waste disposal. Various cryptocurrency accounts, including Bitquin and Dashcoin, were utilized for these transactions, totaling 27,824,957 Armenian drams. The resident’s account was temporarily blocked in 2022 due to violations related to real estate management, waste disposal, and the distribution of waste materials using public roads.
Based on the evidence collected, it was determined that the resident was involved in illegal income through the disposal and management of waste materials. The case materials have now been submitted to a judge for validation and the initiation of judicial proceedings against the resident. The investigation is ongoing and aims to identify other members of the social network group involved in waste disposal activities and the movement of waste materials.
