Lake Sevan’s Water Level Rises by 2 cm in One Week, Reaches Highest Point in Years

The water level of Lake Sevan has increased by 2 cm from June 24th to 30th, reaching a height of 1900.66m as of June 30, 2024. This is 12 cm higher than the water level on the same day last year. By January 1st to June 30th, 2024, it is expected to rise by an additional 49 cm. This information has been announced by the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” of Armenia.

During the period from June 24th to 30th, a total of 5.139 million cubic meters of water has been transferred to Lake Sevan from the Arpa-Sevan River. For the entire period from January 1st to June 30th, 2024, the total amount of water transferred is projected to be 156.854 million cubic meters.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Armenia, the volume of water in Lake Sevan, excluding outflow, is estimated to be 12.086 million cubic meters between June 24th and 30th. Additionally, there has been a total outflow of 24.377 million cubic meters from June 16th to 30th.
