“Eurasian Economic Commission Reports $533 Billion Trade Turnover Amidst Corruption Proceedings – Armenian Judiciary Takes Action”

During the first half of 2024, the Eurasian Economic Commission reported a trade turnover of 533 billion drams. Ana Vardapetyan, the Chief Judge of the Armenian Court of Cassation and a representative of the judiciary in the commission, discussed this aspect of the corruption proceedings during a press conference organized by “Armenpress”. She mentioned that in 327 cases, the trade turnover was reduced and 165 individuals were sent to their own court. Vardapetyan also stated that 347 individuals were involved in international trade through this monetary turnover, with 93 cases being handled by judges through personal jurisdiction. The head of the judiciary highlighted that the administration of the Eurasian Economic Commission has undergone a complete reorganization, adopting a judicial proceeding model similar to a criminal trial and employing highly qualified and prepared career judges, including young people.
