On June 29, an emergency call was received at the regional emergency management center in Vayots Dzor. The call reported casualties near the city of Vayk due to an accident. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia’s Rescue Service has confirmed the incident. A team from the regional rescue department, along with a search and rescue detachment from Jermuk, arrived at the scene.

A collision occurred on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, specifically on the 135th km. The accident involved a “VAZ” car driven by G.G. (born in 1991) and a “KamAZ” truck driven by V.T. The driver and passengers inside the “VAZ” car became trapped due to a gas leakage. The rescuers successfully stopped the gas leakage and safely evacuated the car’s driver and passengers – H.H. (born in 1992) and A.S. (born in 1998). They were provided with necessary medical assistance at the scene.
