“Prime Minister Mirzoyan Discusses Partnership Agenda and Peace Agreement with EU Representative Borrell in Dubrovnik Forums”

Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan recently met with Josep Borrell, the Vice-President of the European Council and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The meeting, which took place during the Dubrovnik forums, focused on various aspects of the Armenian-EU partnership. The participants discussed the steps being taken to enhance cooperation and expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in visa liberalization.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on international and regional security concerns. Both parties emphasized the importance of effectively implementing mechanisms that protect human rights and uphold the fundamental principles of international law.

Prime Minister Mirzoyan underscored the significance of signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the meaningful withdrawal of armed forces deployed in the region, in order to ensure comprehensive security in the South Caucasus.

The previous agreements made between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding peace and an unconditional ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh were extensively discussed. The necessity of measures to facilitate the return of prisoners and the preservation of cultural heritage was also emphasized.

In addition to these discussions, Prime Minister Mirzoyan addressed the importance of signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan during his visit to Croatia. This agreement would contribute significantly to comprehensive security in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister also highlighted the significance of practical steps taken by international partners to assist in the implementation of the previously reached agreements between the two parties.

Furthermore, the meeting emphasized the need for a comprehensive security environment in the South Caucasus, which would foster cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The business sectors of both countries possess significant potential for collaboration, further highlighting the importance of a secure environment for mutual growth and partnership.
