“Arson Attack in Yerevan: Resident Injured in Intentional Fire”

On June 29th, a fire was reported in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The alert came from the “Astghik” Medical Center, informing the Emergency Situations Ministry that a residential building was on fire and a severely burned individual had been transferred to them for treatment. The patient, identified as David Shakhbazyan, a 43-year-old resident of Yerevan, was in the operating room at the time, and further details about his condition were not yet available.

Before the firefighters arrived, the medical staff at the hospital were doing their best to save the injured person’s life. According to information from shamshyan.com, the heads of the firefighting departments in Yerevan and the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, along with employees of the firefighting and rescue brigade from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Andranik Isakhanyan and Armen Gasparyan respectively, arrived at the scene and discovered that the injured person had been transferred to the Svachyan 24 clinic.

Upon entering the building to assess the situation, firefighters and rescuers found evidence of arson both inside and outside the entrances. This led to the launch of a preliminary investigation by the local law enforcement authorities to determine if attempted murder was involved.

Several residents who witnessed the incident spoke to the media. They referred to the injured person as “dilchor Davon” in Malatia. However, according to G. Shamshyan’s information, the injured person’s actual name is David Shakhbazyan, a 43-year-old resident of Yerevan.
