Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, visited schools number 3 and number 4 in Vagharshapat today. She held a joint session with the teachers of a 5-day training course on the preparation of physics and chemistry laboratories and improvement of teaching methods. The program includes exams in subjects like chemistry, physics, biology, geography, and information technology for about 1000 teachers. Andreasyan visited the classrooms, observed the preparation process, spoke with the teachers, and congratulated them on their success.

Andreasyan expressed gratitude to the officials of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, as well as to the head of the center for education programs, Griche Hovhannisyan, and the head of the National Center for Education and New Development, Artashes Torosyan. The program is implemented by the RA Ministry of Education and provides additional financial support to the “Education Improvement Program” loan program implemented by the IFAD. Its goal is to improve the quality of teaching and learning conditions in public schools across several regions of Armenia.

In total, 160 laboratory facilities equipped with modern equipment and educational materials have been constructed in the schools as part of the program. Andreasyan thanked the teachers for participating in the training and emphasized that the completion of the academic year coupled with the training will significantly enhance the quality of education. She highlighted the importance of creating an active educational space and enabling a larger number of children to study in scientific laboratories. Andreasyan also stressed the need to properly protect and maintain the equipment to ensure its longevity.

The head of CGMS expressed her congratulations to the teachers and wished them success in implementing the professional improvement programs. She mentioned that the pilot program of establishing 67 state-of-the-art laboratories in the Ararat region has been successful, creating even more effective conditions for the use of these opportunities. The training sessions are conducted by experts selected through competitions, and the training materials and demonstration videos are available online for teachers to prepare and utilize in their lessons.
