“Minister of Defense Commemorates 30th Anniversary of National Defense Academy, Highlighting Achievements in Military Education and Training”

On June 28, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, participated in the 30th anniversary celebration of the National Defense Academy of the RA Armed Forces, which is named after Vazgen Sargsyan. The event was attended by representatives from the National Assembly, officials of the RA who had signed cooperation agreements with the Academy, as well as high-ranking military officials, veterans, and guests.

In his congratulatory speech, Minister Harutyunyan highlighted the significant role and contribution of the academy in the development of military education and training, aligning with international standards. He emphasized that after 30 years, the academy continues to strive for new achievements with modern educational programs and facilities, advanced teaching methods, infrastructure, and professional military education, ensuring the effectiveness of education and training based on world-class standards.

Minister Harutyunyan expressed his confidence in military education, stating that it has overcome numerous challenges and changes in its curriculum, procedures, and regulations while consistently expanding the knowledge base of military personnel, improving education conditions, enhancing training quality, providing professional teacher training, and promoting psychological and moral education. He noted that the membership of the Republic of Armenia in international military associations serves as evidence of the academy’s achievements in line with international standards.

Furthermore, Minister Harutyunyan emphasized that all efforts in the field of military education and security will be rewarded with increasing trust and appreciation from the people of Armenia. He stated that protecting the military profession and the security of the Republic of Armenia is an essential part of the duty of the security forces.

Lieutenant General Edward Asriyan, the first deputy minister of defense, also delivered a speech on the occasion of the academy’s 30th anniversary. Following the military parade, a wreath-laying ceremony and the placement of flowers at the statue of Vazgen Sargsyan took place.
