According to the operational information received from an informant, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Armenian Police, in collaboration with Ashnak’s business circles, conducted an operation in the Ashtarak district of Yerevan. The investigation, which had been ongoing since 2012, led to the discovery and arrest of a 35-year-old man who was wanted by the authorities of the Republic of Armenia. The charges against him include premeditated murder, attempted premeditated murder with aggravating circumstances, as well as the illegal acquisition and possession of firearms, explosives, and ammunition.

In another operation in Tbilisi, the Armenian special services apprehended a Russian citizen who had illegally crossed the border. The individual had used a counterfeit passport to enter Armenia and had been hiding in the city of Ashtarak.

For the informant’s safety, he has been relocated to a secure location until the process of handing him over to the Armenian law enforcement authorities is completed.
