Ararat Mirzoyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, recently participated in a roundtable discussion on cybersecurity and international security at the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) in Estonia. The discussion brought together representatives from academic circles and directors of globally recognized cybersecurity institutes. Mirzoyan emphasized the changing geopolitical landscape and the proactive measures taken by Armenia to safeguard the country’s external security in the face of existing threats and ongoing countermeasures. He also touched upon the current security situation, recent developments, and measures taken in the southern Armenian region of Syunik. At the ICDS, the Director of Foreign Policy Analysis delved into the role of the security sector in maintaining stability and peace within the region, shedding light on ongoing military exercises and operations. Furthermore, considerable attention was given to the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey, highlighting the vital importance of implementing the provisions outlined in the signed protocols, and the pressing need for their timely execution.
