US Military Aims to Ramp Up Weapon Production to Over 55,000 Units per Month, Says Defense Minister Douglass Bush

The US military plans to escalate its production of weapons by 155 meters by the end of the year, which amounts to over 55 thousand units per month. During a meeting on procurement, material support, and technology, Minister of Defense Douglass Bush revealed this increase. He stated that the objective is to reach 100 thousand units per month by next year. Furthermore, Bush mentioned that by the end of summer, they will have surpassed 55 thousand units and will continue to enhance their production volume. In February, it was announced that the US would produce 70-80 thousand units of short-range weapons per month by 2024 to offer more support to Ukraine, a key ally. Bill Laplante, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisitions and Sustainment, shared in September 2023 that the Pentagon plans to increase the production of short-range weapons by 155 meters by 2025, as outlined in the procurement and material support schedule of the US Department of Defense.
