“Robots Go Undercover: Artificial Skin Can Now Mimic Human Complexion and Grow Hair, Thanks to Groundbreaking Research”

Robots can now have a more realistic appearance with the ability to be covered in natural skin, which can be treated just like human skin using skincare products. This groundbreaking development has been published in the journal Cell Reports Physical Science. In the past, artificial skin has been used to make robots more human-like, but it lacked the realism of synthetic materials like latex. However, researchers have now found a way to attach artificial skin to a robot’s body without the need for surgery, creating a seamless visual transition. The key is in the robot’s skin containing small channels that allow for the placement of a hydrogel to improve penetration of skincare products and better adhere the skin to the mechanical structure. The artificial skin is applied to the robot’s face using 3D modeling, without the need for external patches or sutures.
