“Hraparak Activists Set to Visit Syunik Province: Monitoring Opportunity or Political Maneuver?”

The “Hraparak” newspaper has reported that on Friday, the activists of the “Tavush Welcomes its Residents” movement, along with their supporters, will be visiting Syunik province. The first destination on their itinerary will be Meghri, with plans to visit various communities before returning on Saturday.

In a statement issued on June 23, Bagrat Monastery emphasized the importance of going into the villages and personally reaching out to every household. The emphasis was on avoiding the involvement of outsiders and instead relying on the local community to connect with its people. The statement also highlighted the significance of being present in the regions, as many important events are taking place there.

This visit is also seen as an opportunity to monitor the activities of incumbent officials, including Arush Arushanyan, Gevorg Parsyan, and Manvel Paramazyan. It remains to be seen whether these officials will also have meetings with church leaders or if they will refrain from engaging in any “important work” outside their province.
