“Explosive Incident: Civilian Injured in Landmine Blast in Yerevan”

Yesterday, June 26, there was an explosion of a landmine in Yerevan. The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia received operational information that a civilian near the 14th district of the city was injured by a military-type explosive device.

In response to the incident, operation groups were created to prevent further injuries. These groups included the head of the department, Petrosyan, the deputy head of the department, Senik Eranosyan, and the head of the operational intelligence department, Mamikon Samvelyan.

The injured person is currently located in the area near the 12/3 district of the 14th district of Yerevan. Operational and community security personnel are working to identify individuals involved in terrorist activities and report any related incidents. The person responsible for the explosion allegedly threw an “Makarov” type explosive device into the river and is currently resisting arrest.

Near the 10th district of the 14th district of Yerevan, operatives from the National Security Service of Armenia successfully prevented the suspect’s escape attempt. The suspect, who was allegedly planning a terrorist act, was apprehended and taken to the Emergency Department of the National Security Service of Armenia.

According to sources, the person involved in the incident has been identified as Melk E., a 26-year-old resident of Yerevan.
