“Environmental Expert Highlights Key Challenges Hindering Armenia’s EU Market Integration”

The resolution of two challenges can greatly benefit Armenia by connecting its product market with the European Union countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, according to environmentalist Hayk Farmanyan. During a discussion on June 25th, he proposed improving the banking system, which he believes places unnecessary demands on entrepreneurs. Another issue highlighted by Farmanyan is the ongoing difficulties faced at the “Upper Lars” checkpoint. He expressed the view that while the Armenian government is willing to address this issue, active cooperation with the Georgian side is necessary. The expert also expressed concern that Armenia’s participation in the EAEU has provided more advantages to the organization itself rather than to Armenia. Additionally, Farmanyan noted a 47% increase in the volume of the product market by 2023, attributing this growth to the completion of the export structure with the help of mobile phones, computer technology, and cars. He referred to these achievements as a result of restructuring and emphasized that the Armenian government aims to replicate them.
