Unprecedented Increase in Organized Crime within Armenia’s State Security System Revealed by Spiritual Leader Karine Nalchajyan

In recent times, there has been a significant rise in organized crime within the state security system, which is quite unprecedented. One would expect that the number of criminal activities, particularly corruption cases, would decrease, but unfortunately, the opposite is being observed. During an interview with NEWS.am on June 24th, spiritual leader Karine Nalchajyan was asked about the reasons behind this surge in criminal activities.

“We are currently witnessing a situation where all sorts of violations are rampant. We are well aware of the happenings within the country’s government. Powerful forces within the nation are striving to protect their own interests and prevent Armenia from prospering. It seems that the nation’s heart and conscience have been deceived, with the state security system now prioritizing the authorities rather than the people, contrary to its intended function. The entire state security system is involved in this, creating an environment where the core aspects of state protection have been neglected,” explained the spiritual leader.

According to Karine, it is evident that if law enforcement declines overall in a country, people will exploit this situation and exceed their boundaries by engaging in unlawful activities. “When someone in a high position permits themselves to take such actions, others will follow suit. The mechanism is reinforced by the fact that individuals witness various excuses, which they interpret as permission to break the law and bypass regulations,” Karine Nalchajyan added.

The spiritual leader further shared that our country contains both negative elements and individuals who possess high moral standards. She emphasized that if these individuals are not tempted by weak laws and inadequate punishments, they can contribute positively. “If we acknowledge that Armenia’s entire state security system is concentrated in one focal point, individuals contemplating violations will perceive that their actions will go unpunished,” she stated.

During her speech, Karine Nalchajyan underscored the fact that numerous negative developments within the country have been disregarded, despite receiving wide coverage one to two months ago.

“Our country faced a major disaster a few months ago, which experts have identified as a hybrid warfare. Additionally, we must not forget that we are currently entangled in an information war. These factors combine and contribute to the surge in criminal activities,” she highlighted.

According to Karine Nalchajyan, an individual’s level of personal freedom, which is relatively high, can result in either positive or negative actions, depending on their morality. “If we know that Armenia’s entire state security system is concentrated in one focal point, individuals planning to engage in violations will believe that they have carte blanche,” she concluded.

Karine Nalchajyan firmly believes that establishing a genuine justice system would create an environment conducive to reducing criminal activities.
