The summer military call of 2024 began on June 24 in the Gegharkunik province of Armenia. The first group of new recruits from the military conscription of the RA Ministry of Defense and the RA AF Defense Army of Gegharkunik province were on their way to begin their military service in Martuni community.

The military oath-taking ceremony was attended by several important figures, including the governor of Gegharkunik province, Janik Bazeyan, the director of the RA Ministry of Defense and the RA AF Defense Army of Gegharkunik province, Benik Sargsyan, and the director of the Martuni community, Armen Shahinyan. Representatives from the Gegharkunik provincial administration, the RA Ministry of Defense, the RA AF Defense Army, military structures, parents of the new recruits, and veterans were also present.

During the ceremony, Janik Bazeyan congratulated the recruits on their military service and expressed his hope that they would fulfill their duties responsibly and honorably, upholding the honor of their families and homeland.

Following the ceremony, the new recruits visited the Holy Astvatsatsin Church in Martuni City. They received a spiritual lesson, lit candles, and then proceeded to the RA Ministry of Defense central gathering point.

The summer military call in Gegharkunik province will continue until the end of July 2024.
