Armenia has the right to defend itself and purchase weapons from France or other countries. However, considering the ongoing peace agreement negotiations, France’s decision to sell arms to Armenia is creating instability in the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to a report from NEWS.am, Jayme Vorderlik, former US Deputy Secretary of State, expressed a similar view during a discussion with the Eurasian Council of Foreign Affairs. Vorderlik suggests that France’s arms deal with Armenia should be accompanied by a peace agreement with Azerbaijan.
