“France’s Arms Deal with Armenia Raises Concerns over Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Process, says Former US Deputy Secretary of State”

Armenia has the right to defend itself and purchase weapons from France or other countries. However, considering the ongoing peace agreement negotiations, France’s decision to sell arms to Armenia is creating instability in the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to a report from NEWS.am, Jayme Vorderlik, former US Deputy Secretary of State, expressed a similar view during a discussion with the Eurasian Council of Foreign Affairs. Vorderlik suggests that France’s arms deal with Armenia should be accompanied by a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. He acknowledges Armenia’s right to defend itself and protect its borders, but emphasizes that such a move complicates the peace negotiations. For the complete interview, please refer to the video.
