Beloved Armenian Actress Lala Manatsakhanyan Remembered As More Than Just a Performer: “A Free Spirit,” Says Fellow Artist Ruben Matevosyan

Every artist, every dedicated soul sees, smells, and feels art everywhere. It fills the empty lines, strokes, and shapes created by the artist. Today, on June 24th, during a meeting of journalists with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral of Conde Surb Hovhannes, Armenian artist Ruben Matevosyan said that Lala Manatsakhanyan was not only an actress, but also a friend, a colleague, a beloved, and a free spirit.

“You feel with your whole body that something is ending in your chest, something related to your creativity. In general, life is a theater, whose curtains fall with a loud noise at the end. Alas, Lala Manatsakhanyan’s last word was not said. There must be some mistake that is not in our hands.

He never uttered a wrong word in his speech. He taught his students to speak correctly, to act correctly, to breathe correctly, so that they could convey the whole essence with one breath. It is a pity. We need more such people. Let’s hope we give them,” said Ruben Matevosyan.

Let’s remember that Lala Manatsakhanyan passed away on June 22nd. She was 66 years old.

Lala Manatsakhanyan was born on October 8, 1957, in Yerevan. She studied at the theater and film department of the State Institute of Fine Arts and Theater in Yerevan, graduating in 1978 with a red diploma.
