The National Anti-Terrorist Committee has announced that the active phase of anti-terrorist operations in Derbent has come to an end, according to a report from RIA Novosti. The committee stated that military operations were carried out in Derbent and Makhachkala on Sunday, targeting two underground mosques, a synagogue, and a checkpoint for road traffic control. RIA Dagestan reported that the commission responsible for investigating the terrorist attacks has launched criminal proceedings related to the “terrorist attack.” Preliminary data suggests that a 66-year-old Russian citizen and several officers were killed in the underground mosque, with one arrest and 12 people wounded reported in the North Caucasus Federal District.
