A 71-year-old woman is set to make history as the oldest participant in a beauty contest. Texhon, who was previously crowned “Miss Texas,” will be vying for the title in the “Miss USA” competition. The “Miss Universe” organization recently made changes to its rules, removing age restrictions and allowing married, divorced, and transgender contestants to participate. In an Instagram post, the El Paso resident expressed her excitement about entering the competition and hopes to inspire people of all ages to prioritize their physical and mental well-being, as beauty knows no boundaries. The “Miss Texas USA” competition, which spanned two days, was held at the Hilton Houston Post Oak.
