“Torrential Rain Tragedy in China: 38 Dead, 55,000 Injured and Counting”

The torrential rain that has been ongoing in China since the beginning of the season has tragically resulted in the death of 38 people and left more than 55,000 injured. China’s central television station has reported on this devastating situation, drawing attention to the local authorities. The heavy rainfall has caused floods, leading to the streets of the Meizhou area in the Pingyu District of Guandu Prefecture being filled with water and mud. On June 21st at 15:00, an incident occurred that claimed the lives of 38 individuals, with two people still missing.

Furthermore, the floods have caused significant damage, including 2,247 destroyed houses, 4,697 damaged roadways, 6,759 hectares of farmland affected, and 452 water supply systems damaged. According to preliminary estimates, the financial losses resulting from these natural disasters amount to around 5.85 million yuan, equivalent to approximately 800 million dollars.
