On June 20, residents of the neighborhood near the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant were informed about an explosion in one of the buildings in the 1st block of the city of Metsamor.

According to NEWS.am, a team was quickly formed from the staff of the Metsamor Plant to respond to the situation. It appears that around 11:30, while investigating military units in one of the residential buildings within the plant boundaries, a 27-year-old resident of Mayisyan village had a personal conflict with and assaulted a 20-year-old resident of M.H. who also lived at the same address.

As a result of the incident, the 27-year-old assailant was apprehended and taken to the Metsamor police station. The 20-year-old victim was taken to the hospital. Furthermore, authorities discovered a weapon that had been used during the attempted murder, which had taken place in the basement of a residential building during a military maneuver exercise.

The 27-year-old assailant has now been transferred to the Armavir Department of Penitentiary Institutions. He will be held in the detention center there.
