“Devastating Winds Destroy Homes and Lives in Lori Province, Leaving Village on the Brink of Flooding”

Strong winds caused significant damage to multiple houses in the village of Qarkop in Lori province yesterday. According to reports from NEWS.am, Gagik Siradeghyan, a 63-year-old resident, shared that the roofs of several houses were blown off, resulting in rainwater flooding their homes. The Siradeghyan family had to remove the water using buckets and drain the rainwater. Unfortunately, the damage extended beyond their homes, as the crops in their yard were also destroyed. Despite the threat of flooding, they are determined to stay in their ancestral home, a tradition they have followed for many years. Currently, they are concerned about the overflowing Debed river, which has made it challenging for the village to have access to the outside world. If the river does not recede in the next few days, the village may face serious flooding. Stay informed about the latest news from Armenia by following NEWS.am on Telegram.
