“Tragic Loss: 19-Year-Old Armenian Soldier Dies in Peacekeeping Mission, Leaves Behind Aspirations of Music Career”

On June 14, a tragic incident occurred that took the life of 19-year-old Armenian soldier Armen Gasparyan. He was serving in a peacekeeping mission when he sustained fatal injuries from an explosion. According to a report by NEWS.am, Armen had plans to return to the front lines and record voiceovers for his own songs in his hometown of Gyumri, where he had the opportunity to record his original songs.

A close colleague of Armen, Satine Poghosyan, shares memories of him. Armen had been studying computer operation in the opera department of their school and had received top honors upon completing his studies. Apart from his passion for writing and singing songs, he also collaborated with his friends in making videos. Satine recalls Armen’s dreams of opening a studio and having her appear as a princess in his videos.

Describing Armen’s character, Satine says that he had good relationships with everyone and was admired by his peers. He was known for his kindness, friendliness, and caring nature. The pain of losing him has been immense, and despite visiting his family twice, they were unable to meet his parents or sisters.

It’s important to remember that on June 14, at around 08:20, a conscript soldier named Armen Gurgeni Gasparian of the RA Armed Forces was discovered dead with gunshot wounds within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, under the conditions of martial law. Furthermore, it has been reported during a regular meeting of the Military Committee that acts of martial and wartime crimes, including violence against the life and health of troops, were committed during military countermeasures in the area affected by the armed conflict.
