“Critical Condition: Protests Injured Yessai Karamyan Requires Urgent Attention Amidst Authorities’ Silence”

Yessai Karamyan, who was injured during the protests in Baghramyan district of Yerevan on June 12, is still in critical condition due to the use of flash grenades by the authorities. His lawyer, Manush Yessayna, mentioned in a press conference with “Pastinfo” that Yessai Karamyan’s condition is critical. As a newly registered lawyer, Yessayna explained that she cannot personally sign documents or submit applications for medical examination. However, she is working on protecting her client’s rights through his wife’s intervention. The investigator has decided to conduct a forensic examination to determine the medical condition of the patient, but the doctor has not yet visited Yessai Karamyan.

The lawyer also highlighted that Yessai Karamyan suffers from “Circulatory Disorders of the Central Nervous System” with signs of radiation in the areas affected by the flash grenade. However, authorities have not addressed this issue due to their irregular actions. When asked about the possibility of citizens being injured as a result of their own actions rather than the authorities’ actions, the lawyer stated that such cases depend on specific circumstances. In this case, Yessai Karamyan’s injuries need further consideration by the military force leading the operation. The lawyer criticized the lack of instructions received, which violates due process.

The lawyer emphasized that the injuries themselves serve as evidence, as the actions of the person involved are baseless. The lack of legal information and evidence in any court proceedings undermines Yessai’s demand. However, the lawyer believes that everything will become clear and comprehensible during the investigation of the case. Yessai Karamyan’s physical condition was assessed as normal, despite the bandaged hands and various injuries. The lawyer ensured that his fair treatment would be rectified.

During the events on June 12, more than 101 citizens, including journalists, were injured due to the use of force and flash grenades. However, the injured party has not yet evaluated the actions of law enforcement officers. The actions of law enforcement officers are being examined in relation to the “Circulatory Disorders of the Central Nervous System” as stated by the Ministry of Defense. The Ministry has been approached by “Pastinfo” to clarify the objections. The investigation is still ongoing to determine the circumstances of the injuries caused by the actions of law enforcement officers. The military operation will continue to clarify the matter and assess the varying degrees and forms of injuries suffered by the victims.
