The spokesman for labor and social affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, recently held a meeting with Jagannath Chapey, the head of the Red Cross and Red Crescent International Federation. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various work and social issues. This information was provided to NEWS.am by the press service.

During the meeting, several topics pertaining to social protection programs and expected changes in the field of social security were deliberated upon. Mkrtchyan presented the ongoing initiatives that focus on rehabilitating the aftermath of accidents in the provinces of Lori and Tavush. He further highlighted the efficient functioning of the Joint Social Service centers in these provinces, which have been catering to the immediate needs of the affected citizens.

In addition, Chapey expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. He stressed the importance of maintaining a continuous effort in providing social assistance and exploring new forms of support. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to extend assistance to individuals who have been displaced from the Lachin region of Artsakh.
