“Nikol Pashinyan Addresses Question on Armenia’s Population: ‘Do We Really Have a List of 10 Million Armenians?'”

Someone recently approached me with a question about whether we really have a list of 10 million Armenians. I can say with certainty that we do not. During a meeting with participants of the “iWorker” program on June 19, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that we often do not give importance to statistics. He highlighted the significance of the religious revival phenomenon represented by the number 10 million. Regardless of whether someone argues that the number is slightly higher or lower, each individual will be counted and acknowledged. Pashinyan acknowledged that this is the reality we face in Armenia.

It is estimated that only several hundred people out of the 10 million population participate in the “iWorker” program. However, this program holds great importance. Firstly, it serves as a political mission with organizational connections. These connections are deeply woven at the genetic level, making them somewhat invisible, much like an individual can be lost in a crowd of millions. Pashinyan emphasized the significance of the statements made during this specific meeting, noting that they may not have been expressed elsewhere. He expressed his commitment to engaging with representatives from different segments of society, acknowledging the unique identities and perspectives they bring to the table.

Overall, this meeting shed light on the issues surrounding the population statistics in Armenia and emphasized the importance of recognizing the religious revival phenomena within the country. The “iWorker” program serves as a platform for political missions and strengthens the organizational connections deeply rooted in the Armenian population. Pashinyan’s remarks during this meeting highlighted the need to acknowledge the uniqueness and diversity within Armenian society.
