Armenian Businessman Ararat Mirzoyan Chooses to Skip Crucial CIS Meeting Amidst Country’s Plan to Withdraw

Armenian businessman Ararat Mirzoyan has decided not to attend the upcoming meeting of the Heads of External Economic Activities of CIS member states in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, which is scheduled for June 21. Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, made this announcement in response to an inquiry from “Armenpress.” The meeting is expected to focus on discussing international collaboration, the regional situation, mechanisms for organizing external economic relations, and methods to enhance mutual trade within the organization. There is also a possibility that the session will result in the adoption of several decisions, which will then be implemented during the next CIS Council of Economic Security session on November 28 of this year. It should be noted that in February 2024, Armenia declared its intention to withdraw from the CIS.
