Joe Biden, the special envoy of the United States, has been in contact with both Israel and Lebanon to defuse tensions along the southern border. Biden emphasized the dangerous escalation of tensions in recent weeks, warning that if hostilities continue to escalate, a larger conflict could ensue. He has held meetings with the head of the Lebanese army, as well as the President of the Cabinet, Nabil Berri, and the President of the Parliament, Nabih Berri.
