“Traffic Chaos: Over 3,000 Violations and 75 Vehicles Impounded in Yerevan”

Yerevan authorities reported 3,146 violations of traffic rules from June 10 to 17, resulting in the impoundment of 75 vehicles. According to NEWS.am, 101 vehicles were found to be in non-roadworthy condition and 177 people were driving without a driver’s license. There were also 18 violations related to registration plates, 433 cases of driving without insurance, 180 instances of using tobacco products while driving, 124 cases of using a cellphone while driving, 71 cases of driving under the influence, and 1,476 other violations. Additionally, 96 vehicles were operated without the required treaty of the Armenian Police, 141 had technical deficiencies, 65 had non-functioning external lights, and 183 had obscured windshields and side windows. In total, 45 individuals were fined for various offenses.

During the same period, the regions also reported 12,973 violations of traffic rules, leading to the impoundment of 148 means of transportation. A total of 206 vehicles were found to be in non-roadworthy condition, and 701 individuals were driving without a driver’s license. There were 51 violations related to registration plates, 3,223 cases of driving without insurance, 239 instances of using tobacco products while driving, 419 cases of using a cellphone while driving, 40 cases of driving under the influence, 1,174 cases of exceeding the speed limit, and 3,702 other violations. Furthermore, 502 vehicles were operated without the required treaty of the Armenian Police, 1,576 had technical deficiencies, 517 had non-functioning external lights (including 136 motorcycles), and 167 had obscured windshields and side windows. Apart from these, 29 individuals were fined for various offenses.
