Legendary French Actress Anouk Aimée, Star of Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita,” Dies at 92

French cinema actress Anouk Aimée, known for her roles in iconic films like Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita” and “8 ½” and Claude Lelouch’s “A Man and a Woman,” has passed away at the age of 92. Emmanuel Papadakis, the spokesperson for her former husband Manuel Papadakis, confirmed that the legendary actress died in her home in Paris. Aimée’s portrayal as a daughter-in-law in Lelouch’s “A Man and a Woman” in 1966 earned her an Oscar nomination and a “Golden Globe” award, as reported by France 24. Fellini, who greatly admired her, compared her intelligence to that of Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, and Jeanne Moreau, all iconic women of the silver screen. The Italian director once described Aimée’s character as a wife who mourns her partner until her own death.
