According to a statement from a high-ranking Israeli official who participated in the protests for the release of detainees, Israel claims that tens of thousands of protesters, whose detention was condemned by the US, are still alive. The official assured that all the protesters are completely safe and that Israel is actively working towards their release to prevent any harm to them. Yoav Galant, the Minister of Defense of Israel, revealed in a recent interview with CNN that the exact number of remaining detainees is still unknown. On June 8, he announced the successful release of four detainees in a special operation and stated that Israel will continue military operations until 120 detainees are released.
