“Flood wreaks havoc in Armenian village, leaving over 30 houses submerged and 10 cars damaged”

In the village of Privolnoye in Lori province, heavy rainfall on June 16 resulted in over 30 houses being flooded and more than 10 cars being damaged. The head of the village administration, Emil Grigoryan, stated that the damage caused by the flood was significant. Within two hours, the floodwaters reached a height of approximately two meters. Although the village does not have large forests, the flood affected the gardens, particularly the corn fields. Currently, the village administration is assessing the extent of the damage and determining what needs to be done. Unfortunately, there is no infrastructure in place to combat floods in the village, including irrigation systems for the fields. Reports of the flooding were shared on social media by Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center employee Gagik Surenyan and covered by NEWS.am.
