The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, Aram I, has accepted an invitation from the leader of Iran. This was announced by the Catholicosate of Cilicia.

“On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, visited the Islamic Republic of Iran on an official visit. The meeting included discussions with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mujtaba Amini, and other government officials.

During the meeting, His Holiness emphasized the restoration of the rights of the Armenian people of Artsakh, the importance of international peace, and the urgent need for the immediate release of the Armenian political prisoners held in Azerbaijan, particularly those located near Azrbeijan. His Holiness asked Iran to mediate between Iran and Armenia, recognizing the historical connection and good relations between the two countries,” the statement said.
