Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, has recently established a central governing body that is solely responsible for local self-governance. This groundbreaking initiative, which was announced on June 17 during a meeting of the Yerevan municipal administration’s executive committee, highlights the city’s commitment to modernizing its management processes. One of the key advancements in this effort is the implementation of a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the first time. The introduction of this system is expected to bring significant improvements in how the city is managed and how information is disseminated. Currently, the GIS system is in the expansion phase, with plans for further development and enhancements.
