Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan revealed today during a regular session of the City Council’s executive committee that the city is currently in the process of acquiring new buses. Deputy Mayor Suran Grigoryan mentioned that although the initial plan was for the buses to start operating by the end of October until November, they are now expected to arrive in Yerevan sooner than anticipated. Mayor Avinyan provided an update on the progress of implementing a unified ticketing system for public transportation, stating that it will go into effect once the new buses are in operation. To ensure the smooth implementation of this system, the Mayor proposed a temporary regulation to adjust bus fares, with a deadline of either one or two months. Grigoryan added that the regulation has already been prepared.
