During a session of the Yerevan City Council today, council member Kamo Arevyan made a request to Mayor Tigran Avinyan. Arevyan asked for a technical project that would cover the renovation of all infrastructure facilities in Yerevan, including transportation networks, residential buildings, water supply systems, and a study on the seismic condition of elevators.

“As many people are aware, Yerevan currently lacks a registry of elevators, and their maintenance is not being adequately monitored,” Arevyan stated. “While there is some preliminary data on these issues in planning documents, we need to assess the current seismic conditions and consider the preliminary project to determine the number of new and modern elevators needed. This is an extremely important matter.”

The mayor of Yerevan responded by stating that if the project is implemented, a registry of elevators in the city will be established by 2025, containing comprehensive data.
