“Mysterious Disappearance: Suren Petrosyan Absent as Tensions Continue to Rise”

Suren Petrosyan, an individual of interest in recent protests near the National Assembly, is currently out of the country and will be absent for two days. This information was confirmed by Archbishop Bagrat, the spiritual leader of the “Tavush is the Homeland of the Armenians” movement, during a press conference in Yerevan on June 17. According to the Archbishop, he spoke with Petrosyan on June 12 regarding the events that occurred during the protests. Petrosyan claimed that he was called for questioning and there was a search warrant issued against him. The Archbishop speculates that the black car used for transportation during the incident may have been affiliated with the NSS, however, he cannot provide concrete details about Petrosyan’s whereabouts. On June 12, tensions arose between protesters and the police during a public rally in Baghramyan. Petrosyan left the scene in an unknown direction, leading to a period of uncertainty regarding his well-being. However, on the evening of June 13, he managed to establish contact with his family, and shortly thereafter, he made a public statement on his official page about the detention and mistreatment of four civilians. Archbishop Bagrat, who has been actively involved in leading the protest, informed the public that Petrosyan had indeed been detained and emphasized the importance of their solidarity in this situation.
