Italian General Claudio Graziano, Former Head of Italy’s Joint Chiefs of Staff and European Union Military Committee, Dies Unexpectedly: Investigation Initiated

Italian General Claudio Graziano, the former head of Italy’s Joint Chiefs of Staff and the European Union Military Committee from 2018 to 2022, has passed away under undisclosed circumstances. According to ANSA news agency, the 70-year-old military veteran’s death was not due to natural causes.

Graziano was appointed as the Chief Executive of Fincantieri, Italy’s largest naval shipbuilding company, in 2022. The company handles orders for both military and civilian sectors, including naval, aviation, surveillance, shipyard, and defense industry production.

Italy’s Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, expressed his condolences following Graziano’s death, describing him as a “true military leader who served the country with dedication.”
