“Former Wife Takes the Helm: Putin Appoints Anna Civilyova as Head of Russia’s Security Administration”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed his ex-wife, Anna Civilyova, as the head of Russia’s security administration, according to “Novaya Gazeta”. Civilyova’s role will include providing social and residential support to military personnel, as well as improving their living conditions. Anna Civilyova, who was previously married to Putin, is married to Sergey Civilyov, the Energy Minister of Russia. Prior to this appointment, Civilyova held a leadership role in the administration of the Kemerovo region. However, Civilyova has faced sanctions from the European Union, Great Britain, Ukraine, and Sweden for her involvement in supporting the “Fatherland Defenders” special military action group, especially amidst the events in Ukraine.
